What you'll need
- Main-colour yarn (grey, ginger, black…) + a hook that matches the gauge below
- A scrap of pink for the nose
- 2 safety eyes (or black yarn to embroider) and black yarn for the nose & whiskers
- Stuffing, stitch marker, tapestry needle
- A stitch marker, a tapestry needle, scissors, and toy stuffing
Gauge — read this first
24 sc × 20 rounds = 10 cm, worked tightly so the stuffing doesn't show. Use whatever yarn and hook give you this gauge — for the default that's worsted/aran yarn with about a 3.0–3.5 mmhook. Make a small swatch and change hook size until it matches; off-gauge isn't wrong, the piece just comes out a little bigger or smaller.
